Is it possible to make a business out of cooking and selling pigs heads? Brenda thinks so! For several years now, the main staple in Brenda’s business as a sidewalk vendor is exactly that, pig’s heads..
Brenda sets up a plastic table and a few chairs on the sidewalk on a main street in Mandaue City at morning and afternoon break time, and at noon. Construction
workers and other employees at nearby businesses flock to her place to buy pig’s head, noodle dishes, vegetable dishes, rice, soft drinks and energy drinks, along with snacks. At other times, she goes to a company of stone craft workers and employees at a mall to sell similar items. She has managed to make a living out of this.
Hope Eternal Asia in partnership with Divine Business Associates is providing a loan for $288 for Brenda to expand her business once again. She has received loans twice previously and has been faithful in paying off her loan over a 12-month period. She has two employees, a driver/delivery person and a cook. Brenda is tremendously hard-working but is also very generous. Over the years she has been able to put her daughter through college as well as purchase a used Multi-Cab (small truck) to transport her goods to her sidewalk snack shop.
Brenda is a member of New Life Community Church in Mandaue and has been active as a volunteer in ministering to ladies coming out of human trafficking, as well as working tirelessly to help rehabilitate drug addicts through a government program. Although her life has not been an easy one, she always has a ready smile, a generous heart, and a servant’s spirit.
